The Wayúu Tayá Foundation

Saturday, February 25th, 2012

Remember her? This is a pic of Anck-Su-Namun from the movie The Mummy Returns played by Patricia Velasquez. The reason I’m posting this is because I was watching the opening episode for this season’s Celebrity Apprentice and Patricia Velasquez is on it. Her charity is the Wayúu Tayá Foundation.

Mission: To help improve the lives of Latin-American indigenous people while maintaining and respecting their traditions, culture and beliefs.

The reason that resonates with me is because of the books that I write. The antagonist in my Drake Eldorado series was bred upon the anvil of Hell so-to-speak. He aims to globalize the world via a plan that has worked on many other worlds. Through centuries of deception, manipulation, and war the global empire is near completion on our world.

Clearly, beyond my writing, the Wayúu Tayá Foundation aims to help preserve the traditions, cultures, and beliefs of the Wayúu, an indigenous group of over 450,000 people, located in the Guajira Peninsula of northern Colombia and northwest Venezuela.

To fight blatant corporatism, product placement, and brainwashing we must preserve our past. And that is just what the Wayúu Tayá Foundation is doing – preserving the past.

The Peruhai and some of the other native tribes as described in the second Drake Eldorado book, Agenda, didn’t have a foundation to help them preserve their way of life. Many of them were raped, enslaved, killed, seduced by alcoholism and drugs or taken by suicide just like many natives have been in real life. The encroachment of modern man has not been just a benefit; such as with medicine. It has also been a nightmare of temptation and greed brought about by corporate ideology. The old ways have been attacked, made fun of, and trounced upon as “old fashioned”. That’s real marketing at work to make the past seem irrelevant to what should be believed and purchased today. This recipe for disaster continues across the world.

Anyway it’s a worthy cause. The Wayúu Tayá Foundation is something that can help natives reclaim and preserve their identity in a world that is spinning so fast that it all has become a blur.

Today on the radio I was listening to the news. It said that some countries were hoping Iran would be barred from making global financial transactions in response to the progression of their nuclear program. This could be accomplished through the organization, SWIFT.

SWIFT is a member-owned cooperative through which the financial world conducts its business operations with speed, certainty and confidence. More than 9,700 banking organisations, securities institutions and corporate customers in 209 countries trust us every day to exchange millions of standardised financial messages.

The news report said that 80% of the world’s economic transactions go through SWIFT. Therefore Iranian businessmen would need to carry boxes of cash to do any global deals. Online transactions wouldn’t be an option apparently.

Personally I wasn’t even aware of SWIFT. We have the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the International Monetary Fund, the G8, the G20, Central Banks, SWIFT… anyway it’s clear that a global government is on the way. The tools and the institutions are already in place. The next step will be a global tax and then the elimination of currencies.

You think?

I think so.

Less Liberty. More Security.

Friday, February 10th, 2012

That’s right folks. Ever since 911 you asked for less liberty for your fellow American citizen and more security measures be implemented. Screw liberty! Who needs freedom? We need to be watched, checked, frisked, and given big gov approval so that we all know that we are all acceptable and inline with the American policy of how to live.

So here is another fantastic way to keep us wild citizens in our places (in our cars commuting to work) –

30,000 drones to fly America’s friendly skies <---- THAT'S RIGHT!!! So you better shut that pie hole up with a Big Mac and be content with less benefits from your employer. What? You don’t like processed, fake meat? You don’t like less benefits for more work? What are you… a terrorist? You a rabble-rouser? Are you a freakin’ shit disturber? You best sit your ass down and do some online shopping at Walmart if you know what’s good fer ya. You need to know your place and do as the sheep do, bitch!

Comcast = Corporate Scam!

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

Tonight I was flipping through my channels looking for something interesting to watch. And sometimes “interesting” can be defined as brain dead television programming, such as Hardcore Pawn. This show is on channel 65 aka truTV. I stare at this channel a few times a week for a half hour… maybe more… maybe less. So I switch to truTV and a blue screen pops up that says “NOT AUTHORIZED”.

Wait just a minute. I have been paying a particular fee a month to watch a certain set of channels that Comcast agreed to provide to me. There’s an agreement there. So what’s up? I didn’t get a letter. I didn’t get a warning of some sort.

Oh… maybe there’s a glitch in the system. I’ll call.

So I called and a recording said Comcast took away TCM and truTV and moved them up to a more expensive package. If I want them then I must upgrade to the more expensive package.

I decided to follow up by speaking directly to customer service. After the standard BS greeting by the customer care agent I explained my situation. The ensuing conversation is basically what transpired.

Me: We agreed to pay for certain channels. Where are they?

Service Rep: They were moved.

Me: I want them back.

Service Rep: We can’t do that as it is a part of the system now in a higher tier package.

Me: Then downgrade me to basic.

Service Rep: I can offer you a package with HBO for one year at $9.95 per month.

Me: So how much will my bill be?

Service Rep: It is $94 now. It will be $104.

Me: So you want to make me pay $10 more per month to make me feel better?

Service Rep: That is the offer we can give you.

Me: I want to go down to basic.

Service Rep: You need to call back between 8AM and 6PM to speak to someone about that.

Me: You can’t downgrade me but you can upgrade me?

Service Rep: I can also put a note in the system about your call.

Me: Okay. But this is wrong. I didn’t agree to this. I pay for certain channels. I didn’t get a letter. I want to downgrade.

Service Rep: I can’t do that. You must call between 8AM and 6PM to speak to someone about this.

Me: I need to call again?

Service Rep: I’m sorry about the inconvenience. Is there anything else I can help you with.

Me: No.

So Comcast sent me the customer service rating phone call. My problem was not solved. The agent couldn’t do anything to get my channel back or downgrade me. He got a poor rating which reflects on the Comcast culture of screwing their customers.

There should be a law against this!

Congratulations, New York Giants!

You won the Superbowl!

Honestly, I’ve been a Niners fan and a Giants fan for decades. And when the Niners faced the Giants in the playoffs I kinda’ hoped the Niners would win. They didn’t. But the Giants went on to win the Superbowl so at least the Niners loss wasn’t to anyone but the future champions. I’m okay with that.

On another note if I was betting money I would have bet that the New England Patriots would beat the Giants in the Superbowl. They didn’t. I’m really glad about that. I wouldn’t put real money down against the Giants anyway.

Great job! What a fantastic season. Totally left me wondering for awhile there.
