One of my favorite holidays, if not my favorite, is Thanksgiving. Why? For me having a day of “thanks” really brings it all together allowing me to hone in on what I truly appreciate in my life and what’s out there in our country and the world that I also believe to be thankful for.
Instead of writing in the traditional fashion of paragraphs how about a list of the three things that I am most thankful for!
My family – I love and appreciate my wife and kids so much. They are the center of my life. And even when things might not be perfect I still love them. They are my blood. They are what and who I cherish. They are what and who I will support, love, and protect as deemed from the innards of my DNA, my conscience of reason, my subconscious dream world, my eternal spirit, and as deemed by the warrior’s honor of my past ancestors. I am so thankful for you!
My God – I am thankful to exist within this physical paradigm. I am thankful for free-will and the ability to make choices. To exist without God is empty. I know that from the past. Now I know better. God knows my intentions, my heart, and how short of a time I (and humanity as a whole) has on Earth. I thank God for strength, insight, and being pushed to do better for myself, my family, and my world.
My country – I appreciate America so much. The fair and balanced constitution that is the law of the land. Our forefathers who fought for a free republic unimpeded by the motherland of the British Empire. I am incredibly happy to be a citizen of the United States of America.
Family, God, and country… those are my top three “things” that I am thankful for.
Now, even though I am thankful and blessed to have such a wonderful core to uplift and support me I am not ignorant to the fact that my fellow Americans are being manipulated by forces who have been gathering within our power bases (government and corporations) for decades now.
There is a power bent on taking away mankind’s tools for independence (capitalism, money, free-choice, the right to protect one’s self, family, and property, etc.). It wishes to divide us against one another; it seeks to tempt our leaders with promises of global power; it desires to dumb us down with “dumb” television programs, video games, and by controlling the education system; it wants to pacify us with poor nutrition, media campaigns, and lies… and there’s more. Just read the news. Now read in-between those same news lines. What do you see? Can you grasp upon what I am writing beyond a democrat or republican perspective? Can you separate your manufactured-self from the production line and look at the big picture?
Our freedoms have been abused by those in power (those who we trusted to rule by the rules [politicians] and those who we built up with our money [corporations] by buying their products). Now “they” say that you and I must suffer for it. That you and I must pay more (taxes, fees, fines, prices, and higher interest rates) for our system and at the same time while paying more we must also expect less (less real representation based on freedom and patriotism, less corporations to apply for jobs, less ability to tend to our own land and farms, less affordable education, less expectations to retire before 60 years old, less American-made products, less real beef in our hamburgers, etc.).
As an American citizen I now get less for more of my money. If I was a paying customer at a business I would have the choice to go to another establishment and get a better deal. But this is my country. I can’t just pick up and go. And I can’t just not pay my taxes. The IRS will come after me. So what choice is left? The only one that I can put to use (besides outright revolting) is to write about it. They say that the pen is mightier than the sword. Perhaps it is, but not always.
My point is that I hope our country is steered in a sane direction. The idea that everything should be free and we should all exist within a hive mentality is the furthest thing away from freedom (OWS). We must keep our commerce system going; we must work for what we want in life; we must be free to travel without unconstitutional searches and seizures being applied; we must be free to voice our opinions; we must be free to cure the cancer of greed and power mongering within the system – the system funded by you and I.
Can you see it now? Is it easier to understand? We don’t need to pushed together and made as one. We need to remain as individuals who have unique ideas. Education, innovation, and sane capitalism is the key to freedom. Don’t fall for the mob backed by communists and socialists. That is a dish of unmanageable promises – a means to an end in order to ultimately dumb you down so much, to make you so dependent that you won’t even know what independence and freedom really is. After several generations your future offspring won’t know what America had. History will have been rewritten and skewed by the “winners”. And they continue to win by fear mongering, power hoarding, and tearing this country’s awesome foundations down.
Wake up and be thankful.
On a side-note – Some of the very forces that want to do away with capitalism utilize the generosity of the ignorant participants of that same economic system to elicit donations in order to further their cause; such as the Occupy Wall Street movement. They want to cast capitalism away yet they have built up a huge monetary account to the point of even placing some of the funds in corporate bank accounts; such as Wells Fargo. Talk about two-faced liars!
Since this is the case then it is my understanding that communist and socialist movements; such as OWS desire to utilize money (an economic tool – a source of economic strength) to further their agenda yet in the end they don’t want citizens to be able to amass money and/or wealth for themselves. Therefore they don’t want people to be truly independent. They desire a dependent worker as opposed to a self-reliant business person; such as a mom and pop store. They believe down to their core that capitalism, money, and independence is bad (for citizens anyway).
It’s the same with the second amendment, the right to bear arms. The UN, forces in government, and “progressives” don’t believe citizens should have the right to protect themselves, their family, or their property. They want citizens to be dependent upon the system for any protection. Government can posses guns but citizens cannot. Once again this leads to a dependent, defenseless citizenry. Go watch the movie, Braveheart or the movie, The Last Samurai and imagine what would have happened if they didn’t have swords or even put up a fight.
So if we end up with a country of citizens that have little money and wealth as well as no way to protect one’s self or property what do you think will happen? It can’t be good. I mean look at what is occurring now. Do you really believe that any source of power or government can be fully trusted?
Why are people so short-sighted?
Damn!
