So according to Mark Coker at Smashwords they have come to a new deal as of 12/01/10. A snippet from his blog says -
“Effective today, all Smashwords retailers are pricing Smashwords books at the price set by the author or publisher. No more discounting.”
“It also means we have significantly increased the royalties we pay our authors and publishers.”
It’s wonderful to know that popular websites, a legit business model like Smashwords, isn’t out there trying to gouge authors in this new era of publishing.
